n8n, Make or Zapier: what suits a company of 20 people
Three tools that look the same at first glance. The difference is in who owns the workflow, what it costs as you grow, and whether your data leaves the EU.

|---|---|---|---|
| Own server in the EU possible | Yes | No | No |
| Cost at 50,000 runs a month | From EUR 20 (self-hosted) | About EUR 100 to 300 | About EUR 300 to 700 |
| Own code in a step | Yes, fully | Limited | Limited |
| Suitable for non-technical administrators | Reasonably | Good | Good |
Our advice
For a company of 20 people with sensitive client data, we choose n8n on an EU server in your name. You pay for the hosting, we build and manage. If the collaboration ends, nothing changes for the workflow. For a marketing agency with no personal data in the flow, Make is a fine choice.
What we do not do
Build a workflow in an account that belongs to us. That is the quickest way to lock a client in, and we do not start down that road.
